The deadlines for restructuring applications and payments for taxpayers in 4 provinces and 2 districts affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes that occurred on February 6 last year have been extended. The "General Communiqué on Law No. 7440 on the Restructuring of Certain Receivables," prepared by the Revenue Administration of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, has been published in the Official Gazette and entered into force.

The force majeure status declared for taxpayers in Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, and Malatya, as well as the İslahiye and Nurdağı districts of Gaziantep, which were affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, had been extended until November 30.

With the communiqué, the application and installment payment deadlines to benefit from the provisions of the "Law on the Restructuring of Certain Receivables and Amendments to Certain Laws" have been regulated based on the date when the force majeure status ends.

PAYMENTS CAN BE MADE UNTIL FEBRUARY 28, 2025

According to the regulation, those who owe debts to creditor administrations in the 4 provinces and 2 districts where the force majeure status has been decided to continue until November 30 will be able to submit their applications under Law No. 7440 until the end of the day on Friday, February 28, 2025.

While the payment of the first installments (including lump-sum payments) of the restructured debts has been extended until March 31, 2025, payments can be made until the end of the day on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, due to the fact that this date falls on an official holiday.

The second installments of the debts can be paid until April 30, 2025, and the subsequent installments can be paid in monthly periods following this installment.

Applications can also be made and payments can be submitted to the offices of all creditor administrations, including provincial special administrations, municipalities, and investment monitoring and coordination departments, whose receivables are restructured under the law, within these periods in the 4 provinces and 2 districts.
