New development in the Fatma Nur Çelik murder: Two people suspended from duty

A new development has occurred within the scope of the administrative investigation into the case of biology teacher Fatma Nur Çelik, who was killed by her student in the Çekmeköy district of Istanbul.

It has been reported that within the framework of the investigation, Çekmeköy District Director of National Education Mustafa Akhan and Taşdelen Borsa İstanbul Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Principal Fatih Polat have been suspended from duty.

In the attack that took place on March 2 at the Taşdelen Borsa İstanbul Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Çekmeköy, 11th-grade student F.S.B. stabbed biology teacher Fatma Nur Çelik, an individual named Z.A., and a student named S.K. As a result of the attack, teacher Fatma Nur Çelik lost her life. The injured Z.A. and student S.K. were taken to the hospital for treatment. The student F.S.B., who was detained following the incident, was arrested by the court and sent to prison.

THE SCHOOL WILL BE NAMED AFTER THE TEACHER

Following the attack, a new decision was made by the Ministry of National Education to keep the teacher's memory alive. Accordingly, the name of the teacher will be given to the Taşdelen Borsa İstanbul Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, where Fatma Nur Çelik worked.

CONDOLENCE VISIT TO THE FAMILY BY MINISTERS

Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin and Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi paid a condolence visit to the family of the late teacher Fatma Nur Çelik, who live in Konya. During the visit, they met with the teacher's mother, Rukiye Arıcan, and her brother, Cihan Çelik, to convey their condolences.
