New development in investigation into IMM: 4 suspects released

Four suspects who provided statements under the effective remorse provision in the corruption investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) have been released.

The corruption investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into individuals including IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, on charges of "managing a criminal organization," "membership in a criminal organization," "extortion," "bribery," "qualified fraud," "unlawful acquisition of personal data," and "rigging a tender," continues.

Ogün Soytekin, the brother of Adem Soytekin who is currently detained in the investigation, his bodyguard Murat Erenler, businesswoman Nezahat Kurt, and Bülent Yılmaz provided statements under the provisions of effective remorse.

The criminal judgeship of peace decided to release the suspects.
