The investigation conducted by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the deaths of Özge Ceren Deniz and İnanç Öktemay, who were electrocuted after stepping into a puddle during heavy rainfall in İzmir's Alsancak district on July 12, is ongoing.

Additional detention orders have been issued in the case, where 14 out of 35 suspects—including employees from IZSU, GDZ Elektrik, and companies carrying out infrastructure works—had previously been arrested.

DETENTION ORDER FOR IZSU GENERAL MANAGER

It has been reported that IZSU General Manager Gürkan Erdoğan, IZSU Deputy General Manager Serdar Sadi, and 4 executives from Gediz Elektrik have been detained as part of the electrical leakage investigation in İzmir.

NUMBER OF DETENTIONS RELATED TO ELECTROCUTION IN İZMİR HAS INCREASED

11 people have been detained as part of the investigation into the incident in İzmir's Konak district where two people lost their lives due to electrocution.

A new development has occurred regarding the deaths of Özge Ceren Deniz and İnanç Öktemay, who were electrocuted after stepping into a puddle during heavy rainfall in İzmir on July 12. As the investigation conducted by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office continues, new detention orders were issued today.

Regarding the incident, in which 14 people—including employees from the water and sewage utility and companies handling electrical and infrastructure operations—had previously been arrested, 6 more people, including company executives, were detained earlier today. With the detention of 7 more individuals, the total number of detainees has risen to 11.
