In the investigation into the murder of eight-year-old Narin Güran in the village of Tavşantepe in Diyarbakır, it has been confirmed that Narin was strangled to death shortly after arriving home at 15:15 on August 21.
According to the report by Ferit Demir from HalkTV, based on the evidence collected by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office at Narin Güran's home and the DNA results obtained from that evidence, it has been concluded that Narin Güran was murdered inside a room in her own home.
According to information obtained by the investigation prosecutors, it was also determined that various methods were used to destroy a significant amount of evidence in the house, and that items, clothing, and carpets in the house were washed using special techniques. Despite efforts to destroy all evidence in the house, it was learned that DNA identifications were made on some items.
Within the framework of the findings and evidence obtained, the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office concluded that Narin was strangled to death a few minutes after arriving home on August 21.
RE-INTERROGATION WILL BE CONDUCTED
As a result of the work carried out by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office within the scope of the Narin Güran investigation, it was learned that the analysis of the narrowed HTS (Historical Traffic Search) records—obtained from GSM operators for the mobile phone numbers used by the 12 people arrested after being detained as suspects and other suspects released pending trial—has been completed by experts, and that much of the information has become clearer as a result.
According to the narrowed HTS records, it was determined that the imprisoned uncle, Salim Güran, was at his brother Arif Güran's house before 15:15, when Narin arrived home, that he was there when Narin arrived, and that he later left the house, entering and exiting the house at least 3 times at short intervals.
Furthermore, it was determined that 3 phone calls were made between the mother, Yüksel Güran, and Salim Güran between 15:20 and 15:35. According to information obtained from the analysis of the narrowed HTS records of aunts Hediye Güran and Maşallah Güran, and Nevzat Bahtiyar, it was determined that they were at Arif Güran's house within a very short time after 15:15, the time Narin was murdered, and that the first person to arrive at the house was the aunt, Hediye Güran, followed by Nevzat Bahtiyar and Maşallah Güran at very short intervals.
It was determined that Maşallah Güran and Hediye Güran came to Arif Güran's house multiple times between 15:15 and 19:00, and that water usage in the house was above established standards.
It was learned that the examinations and determinations made by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on the HTS records of the suspects through expert teams have been completed, and that it has been decided to re-interrogate the detained and suspected individuals based on the results obtained. It was learned that the investigation prosecutors will first conduct the interrogation of the 12 detained suspects. No information has yet been provided as to when the interrogations will take place.
A small army of lawyers will defend the 12 people in total, 9 of whom are members of the Güran family, who were arrested as part of the Narin investigation. According to the information received, it was learned that the Güran family has so far granted power of attorney to 12 lawyers. It was stated that the 12 lawyers who will defend the Güran family went to the prison yesterday to hold a group meeting with their clients, that many other meetings at the prison were disrupted due to this meeting, that many lawyers who came to the Diyarbakır T-type prison from different provinces and from Diyarbakır to meet with their clients were kept waiting due to the meeting of the Güran family's lawyers, and that other lawyers were admitted to meetings only after the Güran family's meetings were completed; this practice was reportedly implemented for the safety of the detained Güran family suspects.
