Within the scope of the corruption investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, 36 suspects who gave statements to the Prosecutor's Office regarding allegations of irregular activities at İSTAÇ, KİPTAŞ, and the Road Maintenance Department have been referred to the duty magistrate with a request for arrest.
The corruption investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) and its suspended, imprisoned mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu continues.
The 46 suspects detained in the operation carried out on May 23 regarding allegations of irregular activities at İSTAÇ, KİPTAŞ, and the Road Maintenance Department were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan after their procedures at the police station were completed.
Of the suspects who gave statements to the prosecutor's office, 36 were brought before the duty magistrate with a request for arrest, and 10 were brought with a request for the application of judicial control measures.
The statement made is as follows:
"Following the statements taken at the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office from the 46 suspects who were ordered to be detained by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on 23.05.2025, 10 people were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for judicial control, and 36 people with a request for arrest. Presented for public information."
