The killing of his 3 children—two girls and one boy—by Murat K., a father living apart from his wife, in the Nilüfer district of Bursa, has become a major issue in Turkey.

New details have emerged in the investigation launched by the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the blood-curdling atrocity.

HE HAD BROUGHT HIS CHILDREN FROM ERZURUM 15 DAYS AGO!

It was learned that Murat K., who works as a painter in construction and has a criminal record of 11 offenses, stated in his initial testimony at the Public Security Branch Directorate following the murders that he and his wife, Gülay K., had been living apart for 1 year due to domestic violence, and that he had taken his children M.A.K., A.K., and Z.K. from his wife, who lives in Erzurum, 15 days ago and brought them to their home in Bursa.

HIS TESTIMONY IS BLOOD-CURDLING

Murat K., who was asked by law enforcement to come in and give a statement on the day of the incident due to a complaint filed by his wife regarding a "threat," stated: "While I was having breakfast in the kitchen with my 3 children, the problems I had with my wife came to my mind. At that moment, I had a mental breakdown and killed my two daughters with a bread knife and my other child by strangling him. After harming myself with the knife, I tried to hang myself with a rope in the hallway, but I failed. Subsequently, I left the residence and surrendered to the first police point I saw."

Additionally, it was reported that the murder weapon, a knife found in the master bedroom, was taken into custody, and notes believed to have been written by Murat K. were found in the rooms.

FUNERALS WILL BE TAKEN TO ERZURUM

Following the examinations at the scene, the autopsies of the 3 children, whose bodies were taken to the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute morgue, have been completed.

It was stated that the bodies of the children, which were decided to be handed over to their mother, will be buried in the Karayazı district of Erzurum after being received by her or her relatives.

In a statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was informed that the procedures for Murat K. at the police station are ongoing and the investigation is being conducted meticulously.
