It has been learned that the investigation into talent manager Ayşe Barım, who was detained on the grounds that she was one of the planners of the Gezi Park protests, will continue by expanding in detail to cover the connections between the period when the Gezi Park-focused events took place and today.
Within the scope of the investigation, it was determined that Barım, with the aim of "overthrowing the government," attempted to increase the mass participation in the events by systematically directing the actors she managed to the Gezi Park-focused protests and utilizing the actors' influence and image in society.
It was noted that in the investigation, where statements have already been taken from some actors who have contracts with Barım's agency and participated in the actions, the testimonies of other actors who have not yet been questioned will also be sought.
Meanwhile, it was learned that the investigation will continue by expanding in detail regarding the connections between the period when the suspect Barım's Gezi Park-focused events took place and today.
INVESTIGATION
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had initiated an investigation into Barım following allegations in print and visual media that she participated in the Gezi Park-focused events in Taksim.
Barım was detained on the charge of "attempting to overthrow the Government of the Republic of Turkey or to prevent it from performing its duties" on the grounds that she was one of the planners of the Gezi Park events.
The investigation included findings from a wiretap transcript of a conversation between fugitive defendant Mehmet Ali Alabora and another person, which indicated that an exchange of ideas took place regarding the publication of a declaration by artists at Gezi Park during the Gezi Park-focused events, and that this was subsequently implemented.
It was stated that Barım had intense communication regarding the events with Gezi Park case defendants Osman Kavala, Çiğdem Utku Mater, and Mehmet Ali Alabora, that she directed the artists she managed to participate in the events in 2013, the start date of the Gezi Park protests, and that she herself participated in the events with these actors.
Within the scope of the investigation, the testimonies of actors Halit Ergenç, Bergüzar Korel, Mehmet Günsür, Ceyda Düvenci, Nejat İşler, Rıza Kocaoğlu, and Nehir Erdoğan were taken as "witnesses."
On the other hand, Ayşe Barım, the founder and partner of ID Consulting Limited Company, who also manages many famous actors, has also come to the agenda with allegations that she caused a monopoly in the sector and that she pushed actors who opposed her out of the market. A separate investigation is also being conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding these allegations.
