In the İliç district of Erzincan, efforts continue regarding the mining disaster that occurred on February 13 at the Çöpler Gold Mine. Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 8 suspects have been arrested to date, while 3 suspects were released under judicial control conditions.
In this context, A.R.K., a geotechnical engineer responsible for the seismic radar system at the mine, was summoned to the prosecutor's office for questioning.
ARRESTED
After providing his statement, A.R.K. was arrested by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace following his interrogation by the prosecutor.
Within the scope of the investigation, 8 suspects, including the Canadian manager I.R.G. of the company operating the gold mine, had previously been arrested, and 3 suspects were released under judicial control conditions. The arrested suspects consist of individuals who worked in engineering, management, and administrative positions at the company. The 9 workers who remained under the soil following the collapse have still not been reached.
