New development in the investigation into Mayor Zeyrek's death: Two people detained
Two suspects have been detained in connection with the death of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who was critically injured after being electrocuted and later passed away in the hospital; one suspect was responsible for pool maintenance, while the other failed to report a leakage current.

The investigation conducted by the Manisa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office continues regarding the death of Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who was critically injured after being electrocuted while entering the machine room to check a malfunction in the pool around 23:30 on June 6, and subsequently passed away at the Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital.
Following the expert report prepared after the incident, two suspects were detained under the instructions of the Manisa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office: Yalçın Ö., who performed the pool maintenance, and Ahmet S., who was determined to have failed to report the leakage current. It was learned that Ahmet S. was involved in maintenance and security work at the residential complex where Mayor Zeyrek lived.
It was reported that the statements of the detained suspects are currently being taken.
REGARDING THE EXPERT REPORT
Preliminary findings in the expert report prepared regarding the incident in which Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek was critically injured by electrocution and later died in the hospital indicate that while safety measures had been taken in the machine room, they had lost their functionality due to corrosion, and there were no protective measures at the main room entrance.
On the other hand, the report determined that voltages above 50 volts have a lethal effect, and Mayor Zeyrek was exposed to an electrical current fluctuating between 68 and 80 volts.
