New development in the investigation of author Murat Koparan, found dead in his home

37-year-old author Murat Koparan was found dead in the villa where he lived in Üsküdar, Istanbul. The incident occurred in a three-story house located in the Bahçelievler neighborhood.

According to the information obtained, Koparan was speaking on the phone with his ex-wife, Elif Feyza Y., whom he had divorced about two years ago, when a gunshot was heard over the line. Upon this, his ex-wife called the 112 Emergency Call Center and reported the situation to the police.

Following the report, police, medical, and fire department teams were dispatched to the address. The teams entered the villa through the balcony and searched the house. During the check, it was determined that Koparan was found motionless in the bathroom on the third floor.

Medical teams confirmed that Murat Koparan had lost his life. It was noted that the weapon found during the police investigation at the scene was unlicensed.

After the work at the scene, Koparan's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue. After the procedures were completed, the funeral was brought to the Fatih Edirnekapı Mihrimah Sultan Mosque and was buried following the funeral prayer.

The investigation into the death of Koparan, who was stated to be a father of four, is ongoing.
