New development regarding the body found in the Bosphorus: He went missing while trying to save his girlfriend!

It has been revealed that the person whose body was recovered from the sea off the Arnavutköy coast of the Bosphorus had gone missing about 3 months ago while trying to save his girlfriend, who had fallen into the sea.

In the incident that occurred off the Beşiktaş Arnavutköy coast the other day around 20:30, fishermen fishing in the Bosphorus noticed a body in the water. Upon notification, health, police, and coast guard teams were dispatched to the scene.

The body, recovered from the water by coast guard divers, was taken onto a boat and brought to the Arnavutköy Pier. From a passport found in his pocket, the person, whose face had become unrecognizable due to being in the water for a long time, was identified as Iranian national Jabar Sabokah. The recovered body was taken to the Council of Forensic Medicine morgue after examinations by crime scene investigation teams.

It was stated that Jabar Sabokah, whose identity was determined by the Beşiktaş District Police Department, had jumped into the sea on the evening of September 26 at the Bebek coast to save his girlfriend after she fell into the water, subsequently disappearing from sight, and that his girlfriend, who had fallen into the sea, was rescued by citizens in the vicinity.

The body of Jabar Sabokah, who went missing in the sea about 3 months ago, was sent to the Council of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
