New development regarding the extradition of Timur Cihantimur to Turkey

The case regarding the extradition to Turkey of Timur Cihantimur, who caused the death of Oğuz Murat Aci while driving without a license in Eyüpsultan, Istanbul, on the night of March 1, and his mother Eylem Tok, who helped him flee abroad, continues at the Boston District Court in the state of Massachusetts.
According to a report on NTV, Acting US Attorney for the District of Massachusetts Joshua Levy requested in a petition submitted to the court where Cihantimur is being tried that the decision regarding the defendant's extradition to Turkey be made before the upcoming hearing.
Levy also requested that the court certify that Cihantimur is eligible for extradition to Turkey for the crimes of involuntary manslaughter and causing injury under the agreement between the two countries, and that it submit its decision to the US Department of State.
The prosecution also objected to the request for dismissal of the case previously filed by Cihantimur's lawyers to the judge.
The prosecution noted that a final extradition hearing for Cihantimur should be held, but that the evidence submitted by Turkey for extradition should be evaluated to determine whether the requirements for compliance with the agreement and the legal requirements for certification as defined under US law have been met.
Cihantimur's lawyers had filed a new request for release.
The lawyers, who requested confidentiality for the psychiatric report submitted to the court, had argued that Cihantimur obeyed his mother's decision to go to the US.
