The Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has completed its investigation into the 2 suspects regarding the attack on Supreme Court Prosecutor Necip Cem İşçimen as he was exiting a parking lot in the Feneryolu neighborhood of Kadıköy.

The indictment prepared as a result of the investigation states that the complainant, İşçimen, had come to the Ülker Stadium in Kadıköy on the date of the incident to watch the Fenerbahçe-Alanyaspor match.

The indictment notes that when İşçimen was about to exit the parking lot on Kalamış Street with his vehicle after the match, he waited at the turnstile after the attendant said he would have to wait a while due to a system failure.

The indictment states that while İşçimen was waiting there, suspect Erol Gök, who was in the vehicle behind him, provoked him by repeatedly honking the horn and flashing his headlights, and that the other suspect, Tayfun Tahsin İlgün, who was sitting in the back seat of the same vehicle, insulted İşçimen.

HE CONTINUED TO PUNCH THE COMPLAINANT İŞÇİMEN REPEATEDLY WHILE HE WAS ON THE GROUND

The indictment explains that upon this, İşçimen got out of his vehicle to warn them and went to the suspects, and that suspect İlgün, who was sitting in the back seat, wanted to get out of the vehicle to hit the complainant but could not do so because the doors were locked, so he insulted him from inside the vehicle and struck him with his hand.

The indictment states that complainant İşçimen tried to prevent İlgün from hitting him by holding his hand, and at that moment, suspect Erol Gök, who got out of the driver's seat, insulted him, quickly went to İşçimen, punched him in the face, and knocked him to the ground.

The prepared indictment provides information that suspect Gök continued to punch and insult complainant İşçimen repeatedly while he was on the ground, and that during this time, the other suspect, İlgün, also used insulting language toward complainant İşçimen.

The indictment states that İşçimen's glasses were broken due to the impact of the suspect's blow, emphasizing that he thereby committed the crime of property damage.

The indictment notes that the incident ended when third parties intervened, and it was reported that according to the report received from the Council of Forensic Medicine, complainant İşçimen was injured to an extent remediable by simple medical intervention.

The indictment states that the crime the suspects are charged with is subject to reconciliation, but the parties did not reach a settlement.

PRISON SENTENCES REQUESTED FOR BOTH SUSPECTS

The indictment requests that suspect Erol Gök be sentenced to prison for 3 months and 15 days to 2 years and 4 months for "public insult," 4 months to 1 year for "intentional injury remediable by simple medical intervention," and 4 months to 3 years for "property damage."

For the other suspect, Tayfun Tahsin İlgün, a prison sentence of 3 months and 15 days to 2 years and 4 months was requested for "public insult," and 4 months to 1 year for "intentional injury remediable by simple medical intervention."

The prepared indictment has been sent to the Anatolian Criminal Court of First Instance for evaluation.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Supreme Court Prosecutor Necip Cem İşçimen was attacked by 2 suspects on August 31 while exiting a parking lot in the Feneryolu neighborhood. In the work carried out by the Istanbul Police Department teams, it was determined from the vehicle's license plate information that the suspects were Erol Gök and Tayfun Tahsin İlgün.

Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, both suspects were arrested and released after a while.

Suspect Erol Gök, in his interrogation at the criminal judgeship of peace, stated that he was remorseful and said, "I apologize to our prosecutor and everyone. I could not come because my lawyer was on judicial recess; I came myself today. My daughter's school will start, she needs me. Everything happened in an instant; this situation occurred there due to my fatherly instincts in response to the children's reflexes. I request to be released, or if your court is of the opposite opinion, that judicial control provisions be applied."
