New era for online listings: Those without authorization certificates will not be able to post ads

The Ministry of Trade has introduced a mandatory authorization certificate requirement for posting real estate and vehicle listings on online platforms. The practice, which began for vehicle listings on April 1, will also apply to real estate listings starting April 7. Listings by real estate agents and car dealers who do not have an authorization certificate will be removed from the system.

The Ministry of Trade has announced that a new era has begun for second-hand vehicle and real estate listings. Authorization verification via the Electronic Listing Verification System (EİDS) has now become mandatory for those wishing to post listings.

APRIL 1 FOR VEHICLES, APRIL 7 FOR REAL ESTATE

The 2-month transition period for vehicle listings has ended. As of April 1, only vehicle owners, their first or second-degree relatives, or auto gallery businesses authorized via e-Devlet will be able to post listings. The system will not allow the entry of listings by galleries that do not possess an authorization certificate.

A similar practice begins for real estate listings on April 7. Property owners will grant the right to post listings to authorized real estate agents via e-Devlet, just as they do for vehicles. After this date, listings posted by unauthorized real estate agents will be removed from publication.

AUTHORIZATION VIA E-DEVLET

Individuals or businesses wishing to post listings will be able to easily complete authorization procedures through the e-Devlet system. In this way, citizens will be able to check who is posting a listing on advertising platforms.

The new regulation will not be limited only to listing websites. All advertisements published in electronic environments, including social media platforms, will be subject to this practice. Thus, it is aimed to prevent fake listings and fraudulent activities.

Property owners may grant authorization to post listings to more than one real estate office if they wish. However, all of these businesses must possess an authorization certificate.
