A new era in public transport in Istanbul! Türkiye Kart application begins

A new era is beginning in Istanbul's public transport. The Türkiye Kart application will be implemented on the Marmaray, the Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System Line, the Halkalı-Bahçeşehir Suburban Line, and the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy Metro Line. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that this application will provide great convenience in transportation.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu stated that, in line with the decision of the Istanbul Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) dated October 31, 2024, the Türkiye Kart application will be valid in Istanbul on the Marmaray, the Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System Line, the Halkalı-Bahçeşehir Suburban Line, and the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy Metro Line, all operated by TCDD Transportation.

Uraloğlu stated, "By offering our citizens an integrated public transport system with Türkiye Kart on these lines, we will provide great convenience in transportation."

BELBİM WILL COMPLETE TECHNICAL WORK

Stating that technical work will be completed by BELBİM following the delivery of the wet-signed UKOME decision for the launch of the Türkiye Kart application, Minister Uraloğlu said, "We had launched the Türkiye Kart, which will consolidate public transport cards from all 81 provinces into a single card, in the pilot provinces of Konya, Kayseri, Gümüşhane, Yozgat, and on the Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport Metro Line in Istanbul. We will increase the number of provinces included in the system to 18 by the end of 2024. We are continuing our work in Ankara with Başkentray, in İzmir with İZBAN, as well as in Rize, Kocaeli, Aksaray, Tokat, Karabük, Uşak, Kahramanmaraş, Nevşehir, Kilis, Çorum, and Gaziantep."

TÜRKİYE KART IS AVAILABLE AT PTT BRANCHES

Expressing that citizens who wish to obtain a Türkiye Kart can apply at PTT branches, Minister Uraloğlu said, "We are offering this project, which will provide convenience to our citizens in transportation, for a nominal fee. Citizens who want to purchase a Türkiye Kart from PTT branches will pay a symbolic amount of 40 liras for a non-chip Türkiye Kart, and 60 liras for Debit and Prepaid cards."
