A new piece of footage has emerged in the investigation into the Filo Jet ship, which sank off the coast of Kyrenia in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus on August 30. It has been reported that a video recording, which the missing Özgür Gönül captured during the incident and shared with his family, has been included in the investigation file.

It was reported that the footage shows the ship's left skid is broken and captures moments of panic on board. The recording in question is being evaluated as significant evidence in the ongoing investigation to determine how the accident occurred.

The 9 suspects detained in connection with the Filo Jet disaster were brought before the Kyrenia District Court. The court ordered that the suspects remain in custody for another 7 days.

During the hearing, Assistant Police Inspector Mannaş, who presented the findings of the investigation, stated that the video recording sent by one of the missing passengers to their family during the incident had been included in the file. Mannaş informed the court that the break in the ship's skid is visible in the footage and that the recording has been sent for expert examination.

Within the scope of the investigation, it is expected that both the findings in the video recording and the technical condition of the ship will be clarified through expert reports.
