New footage emerges of fatal accident involving Kerem Kınık's daughter

New footage has emerged regarding the fatal accident in Istanbul involving a car driven by the daughter of former Turkish Red Crescent President Kerem Kınık.

On July 9, on FSM Street in Kavacık Neighborhood, a vehicle with license plate 34 FKJ 390, driven by Fatıma Zehra Kınık Demir, the daughter of former Turkish Red Crescent President Kerem Kınık, collided with a motorcycle with license plate 34 HUT 980, driven by Yavuz Selim Öztürk, who was heading toward Rüzgarlıbahçe as the car pulled onto the street from Baki Street.

The driver of the motorcycle and his passenger, Batın Barlas Çeki, were seriously injured after being thrown from the bike due to the impact. E.Ü. and M.K., who were walking on the sidewalk at the time of the accident, also fell to the ground after being struck by the careening motorcycle.

The injured were given initial medical treatment by emergency teams arriving at the scene upon notification and were then transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Çeki, who was seriously injured after hitting concrete bollards on the sidewalk during the accident, could not be saved despite medical intervention at the hospital.

JUDICIAL CONTROL CONDITION

The court released both drivers under judicial control, which includes a travel ban and the requirement to sign in at the nearest police station.

ACCIDENT REPORT REVEALED

It was learned that the accident report added to the investigation file states that both the car driver, Fatıma Zehra Kınık Demir, and the motorcycle driver, Yavuz Selim Öztürk, who is under 18, committed traffic violations.

The report reportedly states that driver Demir was 50 percent at fault for violating the rule: "Drivers approaching an intersection must slow down, be careful, and allow vehicles with the right of way to pass first, in accordance with conditions at the intersection."

It was noted that the other driver, Öztürk, was found to be 50 percent at fault for violating the rule: "Drivers must adjust their speed to the load and technical characteristics of the vehicle they are using, as well as the conditions required by visibility, road, weather, and traffic situations."

The two drivers, who were detained following the accident, were sent to the Beykoz Chief Public Prosecutor's Office after their procedures at the police station. Following their statements at the prosecutor's office, the drivers were referred to the criminal court of peace with a request for judicial control measures to be applied due to their 50 percent fault status.

Meanwhile, new security camera footage of the moment of the accident has been obtained.

In the footage, the car is seen hitting the motorcycle as it pulls onto the street, followed by the two people on the motorcycle being thrown onto the road. The footage then shows the two people walking on the sidewalk falling to the ground after being struck by the motorcycle.
