New footage of suspect who killed six and injured eight: Opened fire in succession
New footage has emerged of the suspect who shot and killed 6 people, including his ex-wife, in the Tarsus and Çamlıyayla districts of Mersin. According to the information obtained, Metin Ö. (37) killed employee Ahmet Ercan and business owner Sabri Pan today by opening fire with a handgun at the butcher shop and restaurant in Kadelli Neighborhood of Tarsus district, where he had worked about 1 year ago.
The suspect, who fled the scene in a white car with license plate 01 B 9171, also shot and killed truck driver Gökay Selfioğlu at a gas station in Yeniköy Neighborhood.
Continuing his escape, the suspect shot and killed his ex-wife, Arzu Özden, who was walking on the side of the road in Darıpınarı Neighborhood of Çamlıyayla district, and killed Abdullah Koca in Yeniköy Neighborhood by causing his motorcycle to roll into a ditch.
Continuing his escape, the suspect killed Yusuf Oktay, one of the young shepherds in Karakütük Neighborhood. During his attacks, the suspect also injured 8 people along his route. The injured were taken to surrounding hospitals, primarily Tarsus State Hospital, by ambulances for treatment.
Following the atrocity in which 6 people died and 8 were injured, numerous gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the region to capture the suspect. While helicopter-supported efforts to catch the fleeing suspect continue, the car with license plate 01 B 9171 that the suspect used to escape was found in the rural area of Karakütük Neighborhood. It was learned that the operation to capture the suspect, who is believed to have fled into a wooded area, is ongoing.

The killing of truck driver Gökay Selfioğlu at the gas station was also captured second by second on the security camera. In the footage, it was seen that the suspect opened fire on the driver, who was standing in front of his truck, as he arrived in the car, killing him.
