It has been reported that a new investigation has been opened into Ahmet Özer, who was arrested in Istanbul on allegations of being a "member of the armed terrorist organization PKK/KCK" and was removed from his post as Mayor of Esenyurt.
While the investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terrorism Crimes Investigation Bureau into Özer on the allegation of "membership in an armed terrorist organization" continues, a new investigation has now been initiated on the grounds of "financing terrorism."
It was learned that 2 Ministry of Interior inspectors have been assigned to conduct examinations within the scope of the investigation.
