'New list' announcement in CHP ahead of Extraordinary Congress: Oğuz Kaan Salıcı shares
The Republican People's Party (CHP) will hold an extraordinary congress on April 6, 2025. This decision was made by Chairman Özgür Özel in response to concerns regarding the appointment of a trustee within the party. Özel had stated that all CHP members would be eligible to run in the congress and that a democratic competition would take place.

CHP Istanbul Deputy Oğuz Kaan Salıcı announced that they will present a "Balance and Solidarity List" in the Party Assembly elections.
Salıcı called on delegates, announcing that they would put forward a new list.
Oğuz Kaan Salıcı's statement is as follows:
"We will present a 'Balance and Solidarity List' in the Party Assembly elections at the 21st Extraordinary Congress of the Republican People's Party.
'Balance' is what we say because we want a party that reflects the kind of country we want. We know that the greatest trouble to befall our Republic is the Presidential System, which is based on arbitrary rule, views every form of check, balance, and oversight mechanism as 'tutelage,' and is an enemy of pluralistic democracy. Uncontrolled power is not power. The neutralization of Parliament, the corruption of the judiciary, and Turkey being governed by the personal whims of a 'One Man'... This decay is the foundation of the hopelessness of the youth, the impoverishment of the workers, the insecurity of women, and the cry of the retirees.
'Solidarity' is what we say because we believe that we can only overcome the attacks against our Party through solidarity. Solidarity is the will to exist together and to grow stronger together. It is the strongest expression of the struggle that every individual, every idea, and every wing within the Republican People's Party will wage around common goals and values. It is thinking together, producing together, and resisting together. We make sense of the world with the innovative thinking we inherited from Mustafa Kemal Atatürk; we are fighting to cultivate the universal principles of social democracy in every corner of Anatolia.
With this belief on the path we have embarked upon, I invite the esteemed delegates of the Republican People's Party to support the Balance and Solidarity List."
