AKP Deputy Chairman and Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik made statements regarding the agenda at his party's Kızılcahamam camp and answered questions from journalists.

In his speech, Çelik touched upon the PKK terrorist organization's disarmament process, arguing that this development is important not only for Turkey's security but also for regional stability.

"THE DISARMAMENT PROCESS MUST CONTINUE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION"

Çelik said, “We are holding a comprehensive camp. Our President's speech yesterday resonated widely. The point Turkey has reached regarding a Turkey without terrorism is one that receives support from international platforms. The disarmament process must continue without interruption. The PKK laying down its arms and the complete eradication of terrorism will also be a great source of inspiration for our region.”

"WE WILL SEE THE 'COMMISSION FOR A TURKEY WITHOUT TERRORISM' ESTABLISHED WITHIN DAYS"

Expressing that once the process is completed, the areas of exploitation carried out through terrorism will disappear, Çelik announced that a new structure would be put into effect, saying, “I believe we will see the 'Commission for a Turkey Without Terrorism' established within days.”

"THE 'TURKEY WITHOUT TERRORISM' PROCESS IS NOT A GIVE-AND-TAKE PROCESS"

In his statement, Çelik said that this process is not a negotiation based on any bargaining or interests, and noted the following:

“The 'Turkey Without Terrorism' process is not a give-and-take process or a bargaining process. We would like to listen to criticisms, but there is no reasonable ground for those made by resorting to verbal violence and distorting what is happening. The terrorist organization completely laying down its arms within a few months is a matter we will be following.”
