New operation targeting IMM: 7 detained suspects arrested

In a new operation conducted as part of a corruption investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), 7 suspects who were detained have been referred to the duty Magistrate Judge on charges of bid-rigging and bribery with a request for their arrest. The suspects referred to the court with a request for arrest have been jailed.

It has been learned that the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued detention warrants today for 7 personnel of IMM Ağaç ve Peyzaj AŞ. The 7 individuals taken into custody were referred to the court with a request for their arrest.

As part of the "corruption" investigation conducted into the IMM, 7 people detained over allegations of irregularities in tenders held at Istanbul Ağaç ve Peyzaj A.Ş. were referred for arrest on charges of "bid-rigging" and "bribery."

ARREST DECISION ISSUED

The 7 people detained in the operation targeting IMM Ağaç ve Peyzaj A.Ş. have been arrested.

The statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is as follows:

"Within the scope of the ongoing investigation file numbered 2024/228233, being conducted by our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against a criminal organization established under the leadership of Ekrem İMAMOĞLU, detention warrants were issued on May 22 for 7 individuals due to allegations of irregularities in tenders conducted within the scope of Istanbul Ağaç ve Peyzaj AŞ. The individuals, whose statements were taken at the Istanbul Police Department and our prosecutor's office, have been referred to the duty Magistrate Judge with a request for arrest regarding the crimes of bid-rigging and bribery.
