New process begins: Hotels in Istanbul under inspection!

Istanbul Governor Davut Gül announced that a process regarding hotels, to be coordinated by district governors, will begin on Monday. Governor Gül stated, "As of Monday, we will have closed all accommodation facilities that are unlicensed or that are licensed but do not have a simple accommodation certificate from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism."

REMINDED OF THE FIRE IN BOLU

Attending the 4th Term Meeting of the 2024 Istanbul Provincial Coordination Board, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül recalled the painful incident in Bolu that left 78 people dead and deeply saddened the public, pointing out that it is important for institutions to review their fire safety measures and that there are buildings that need to be inspected.

Governor Gül continued his remarks as follows:

"A process regarding hotels has begun. Our district governors will coordinate it. If all our hotels that do not have a license or an operating certificate from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism are not closed by tomorrow, we will close them all by Saturday or Sunday at the latest. As of Monday, we will have closed all accommodation facilities that are unlicensed or that are licensed but do not have a simple accommodation certificate from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The lists are clear. Therefore, let us finish by tomorrow. If we cannot finish due to the scale, let us have them all closed by Saturday or Sunday."

Governor Gül added that in areas under their jurisdiction, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, district municipalities, and fire departments must work in coordination with district governors to ensure the safety of citizens 100 percent according to a set schedule.
