New releases in May 1 arrests
Eleven of the citizens who were detained and arrested after attempting to march from Saraçhane to Taksim on May 1 Labor and Solidarity Day in Istanbul have been released as part of their monthly detention review.

Eleven more people out of the 27 detained in the third wave of operations, which began on May 21 against those who wanted to march from Saraçhane to Taksim on May 1 Labor Day, have been released. The detention of 4 people continues.
According to the report by Osman Çaklı from Gazete Duvar, the hearing for the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office will be held on September 4, 2024, at the Istanbul 47th Criminal Court of First Instance.
41 PEOPLE REMAIN IN DETENTION
Following the events that occurred on May 1 Labor Day when police blocked the march to Taksim by the crowd gathered in Istanbul's Saraçhane despite Constitutional Court (AYM) rulings, 2 separate indictments were prepared regarding those detained and arrested in the subsequent operations, with a total of 77 people arrested.
With the latest releases, 41 detainees remain in prison.
