İYİ Party Ankara Provincial Chair Akif Sarp Önder announced that he has resigned from his position in a post on his X account. In his post, Önder stated the following:

"I wish for the extraordinary general assembly of our İYİ Party, which is indispensable for our country in the 2nd century of our Republic and the infinite centuries to follow, to be auspicious for our country, our nation, Turkish politics, and our party, which I have shared in its troubles and smiled with in its joys. On this occasion; I hereby announce to the public that as of today, I have concluded my duty as Ankara Provincial Chair, a position to which I was appointed with the honor of my founding Chairwoman Meral Akşener shortly before the local government elections held on March 31, 2024, and which I have carried out with great effort alongside my fellow board and executive committee members in order to increase the sense of belonging to our party even among our members in the most remote corners of our Ankara, to transform our provincial organization into a corporate structure, and to be successful in the elections."
