While Meral Akşener handed over her position as party leader to Müsavat Dervişoğlu at the congress held at the end of April, Koray Aydın, one of the founders of the IYI Party, announced yesterday in a published text that he had resigned from the party.
KNOWN FOR HIS CLOSENESS
Yetkin Öztürk had participated in a series of meetings on behalf of Koray Aydın during the IYI Party's extraordinary congress process following the resignation of the party's founding leader Meral Akşener.
Stating that the efforts they have made for the nation over these years have been wasted, Öztürk used the expression that the will to start everything over is fully present within us.
"EFFORTS WERE WASTED, WE ARE SAD"
In the post where he announced his resignation, Yetkin included the following words:
"I am resigning today from the IYI Party, which we founded with great effort alongside many patriotic friends to serve our nation.
All the work, excitement, and efforts we have put in for our nation over these years have been wasted; we are sad.
But the will to start everything over is fully present within us.
We remain committed to the 100-year oath our ancestors gave to our Founding Father during the establishment of our State; we will continue to work tirelessly and without fatigue for the eternity of the Republic of Türkiye.
