Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, Press and Public Relations Advisor to the Ministry of National Defense, announced that Turkey's first space traveler, Alper Gezeravcı, has been appointed to the Space Command.
Emphasizing that the effectiveness and deterrence of the Turkish Armed Forces in the land, sea, air, cyber, and space domains are increasing day by day, Aktürk stated, "In this context, the organizational activities of our Space Command, established within our Air Force, are ongoing. Air Force Pilot Colonel Alper Gezeravcı, who successfully completed the manned space mission by achieving a first within the scope of the National Space Program, has been appointed to the Space Command as part of the '2024 General Appointments'."
