The wave of trustee appointments, which began with the CHP-run Esenyurt Municipality on October 31, continues.
Following the Mardin, Batman, and Halfeti municipalities under DEM Party administration, trustees were also appointed to the DEM Party-run Tunceli and CHP-run Ovacık municipalities on the evening of November 22.
Hürriyet Editor-in-Chief Ahmet Hakan, known for his proximity to the government, wrote in his column today: “It appears that trustees will not be appointed to DEM-run municipalities all at once. Trustees will come one by one, slowly, in turn.”
In the continuation of his column, Hakan stated, “It seems they expect the CHP to stir things up with every trustee appointment using this method. So, what is the CHP doing? It is more than meeting this expectation.”
Hakan also dedicated a section of his column to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. Saying, “He openly states that he is uncomfortable with the commotion in Parliament. He gives very positive messages regarding the briefing given to them by the MIT. He shows his loyalty to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. He is trying to break the mold as much as he can,” Hakan expressed his opinion, adding, “Even though he sometimes deviates, I like Özgür Özel’s line.”
