New statement from Erdoğan regarding 'absolute nullity'
Speaking on the ongoing "absolute nullity" debates within the CHP, AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that the events are an internal matter for the main opposition party and expressed that they are watching the discussions from a "safe following distance."

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made assessments regarding the ongoing "absolute nullity" debates within the CHP during his speech at the 2025 Renewable Energy Investments Collective Opening Ceremony.
Arguing that the opposition has become detached from the country's and the world's agenda, Erdoğan said, "They are neither interested in the country's issues nor are they following what is happening in the world. Their only agenda is the fight for seats; yesterday they declared someone a hero, today they are branding them a traitor."
Criticizing the CHP's past attitude toward its presidential candidates, Erdoğan used the following expressions: "At one point, they did the same thing to their former presidential candidates who came running when they said 'come,' and they lynched them for days. Even if it was bitter persecution, that person finished their turn as a traitor and collaborator, and now they have left their place to someone else."
Erdoğan's speech is as follows:
"Tomorrow, those who are applauded today will likely be subjected to similar accusations. Unless this unhealthy state of mind that has taken the main opposition hostage changes, it is clear that one day everyone will be put on the target board. As long as the mentality of those who see politics as a career and profit gate instead of a means of serving the public does not change, new ones will likely be added to these scenes of shame.
What is happening is, of course, an internal matter of the main opposition party. It does not concern us. We are content with watching all the debates that we do not find fitting for Turkish politics from a safe following distance.
We do not take seriously the provocations of ill-tempered, cartoonish figures that exceed the limits of courtesy. I also want it to be known that no one has the right to cast a shadow on the reputation of the political institution. Marginalizing politics will not benefit anyone. We expect everyone to act with such sensitivity."
