Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç made statements regarding the investigation into the brutal murder of Narin Güran in Diyarbakır.
Emphasizing that the investigation is continuing, Tunç said, "91 tissue samples obtained have been sent to our Forensic Medicine Institutions for examination. All tests are being conducted. These examinations will take some time."
Stating that the testimonies of those detained within the scope of the investigation have been taken and that prosecutors will evaluate these statements, Minister Tunç reported that the process is being followed meticulously.
Pointing out that the investigation is confidential, Yılmaz Tunç continued as follows:
"Since the transcripts of the testimonies were given to the lawyers, we see them being evaluated on television.
I would like to say that some evaluations may be detrimental to the integrity of the investigation. It is our collective wish that an effective investigation be conducted and that those who murdered our daughter Narin be brought to justice and receive the heaviest penalty under our law.
I would especially like to state this to our media organizations. We must avoid statements that could affect the course of the investigation.
Those who harmed Narin will be held accountable before the judiciary."
