Prof. Dr. İsmet Topçu provided information regarding the health condition of Manisa Metropolitan Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who was exposed to an electric shock.
In a statement made at Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital, Prof. Dr. İsmet Topçu made the following assessments:
"As of last night, our Mayor Ferdi was brought to our emergency department. He was brought to our hospital by a 112 emergency team 20-25 minutes after suffering an electric shock by the pool at his home.
We continued resuscitation efforts from the moment he arrived at our hospital. After persistent and systematic procedures, we received a response at the 50th minute. A return in heart rhythm was achieved.
The recovery was of high quality. We took him to the intensive care unit without delay. During his time in intensive care, support with medication continued.
He was already intubated, and his treatment continued. It was decided to apply the ECMO method, which is a more advanced treatment technique. The necessary equipment was procured from İzmir City Hospital. The ECMO procedure began around 05:30 in the morning."
'WE WILL OVERCOME THIS TOGETHER'
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated, "We are receiving better news with every passing hour. We thank everyone who has called and inquired. I believe we will overcome this difficult day together."
