New twist in İzmir scandal: Teacher who took students home for cleaning detained for human trafficking
D.T., a Turkish Language and Literature teacher at a vocational high school, has been detained following allegations that they took some students to their home during class hours to perform cleaning. A judicial and administrative investigation has been launched into the teacher.

The incident, which took place at a Vocational Training Center in İzmir, occurred on November 4, 2025. According to the allegations, the teacher, identified as D.T., took six female students named Ş.A., E.K., D.D., A.Y., E.N.K., and N.K. out of school during class hours and brought them to their home. An investigation process was initiated following complaints regarding the teacher, who is alleged to have asked the students to clean the house.
The İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into D.T. for the crime of "human trafficking" within the scope of the allegations. While the teacher was detained following the intervention of law enforcement, it was also reported that D.T. has been suspended from duty.
In an official statement regarding the matter, the İzmir Governor's Office stated, "Teacher D.T. has been suspended from duty, and a criminal complaint has been filed with the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the individual." It was also noted that an administrative investigation has been launched.
