Previously unrevealed message records of Seçil Erzan, one of the two people currently in custody in the fraud case that has shaken Turkey, have emerged. A correspondence in the preliminary examination of Seçil Erzan's mobile phone records with Nazlı Can, who is stated to be a close friend and relative, stands out.
"NAZLI, ARE YOU NOT GOING TO ANSWER EITHER?"
In the revealed WhatsApp correspondence, on March 8, 2023, Seçil Erzan sends a message to Nazlı Can calling her ‘Nazo’. However, Nazlı Can does not reply to Erzan. One day later, on March 9, Seçil Erzan messages Nazlı Can again, saying, "Why aren't you answering the phone, Nazlı? Are you not going to answer either? Please call me. Nazlı, I am leaving, goodbye, don't tell anyone anything. I know you were always by my side, I love you very much." Nazlı Can replies, "Where to, leaving us like this?"
SHE DOES NOT SAY WHERE SHE IS GOING AND "MY CLOSE ONES CAME TO MY DOOR FIRST..."
Upon this, Erzan replies to Nazlı Can, "I cannot solve this while everyone is hostile toward me. My close ones came to my door first. No one is to blame." The correspondence then continues as follows;
Nazlı Can: No one came to you for anything bad. Everyone is trying to understand what happened and help.
Seçil Erzan: Yes, you are right. I think so too. You are right. I can never repay what I owe you.
Nazlı Can: But you put everyone in such a quagmire. What are you going to do? Please tell me. Where are you going?
Seçil Erzan: Why should I tell you? Did you even talk to me today? Okay, I can never repay you, know that. My heart is burning, it's breaking, today even my closest ones have ruined my last resort.
Nazlı Can: Okay, as you wish. Whatever you say, I loved you very much. I trusted you so much, I didn't have any ulterior motives, any self-interest.
Seçil Erzan: I know you. Don't explain yourself to me. Goodbye.
THERE ARE NAMES NOT ON THE LIST
According to the revealed WhatsApp correspondence, it is also noteworthy that there are names not on the list who could not get their money back from Seçil Erzan. It is seen in the revealed messages that one of the victims of Seçil Erzan, who was also revealed to have defrauded her relatives, is her neighbor Nurten Ünal Zorba.
MOST WHATSAPP CONVERSATIONS TOOK PLACE AFTER APRIL 7, 2023
When Seçil Erzan was detained, both of her mobile phones were seized. A report was prepared following a preliminary examination of the two mobile phones. The preliminary report stated that priority was given to visuals, documents, and conversations in the mobile phones that could be related to the investigation file, and it was stated as follows:
"As a result of the preliminary examination conducted on the mobile phone of the suspect named Seçil Erzan; it was determined that most of the WhatsApp conversations took place after April 07 (2023), that in general, calls and messages were constantly coming from the other party in the conversations that took place, but the person named Seçil Erzan did not answer the messages and calls most of the time. Regarding the determination that most of the WhatsApp conversations took place after April 07, 2023, the possibility that messages prior to this date were deleted was evaluated, and as a result of the examinations, the conversation records deleted by the person named Seçil Erzan were found in the deleted folder within the mobile phone photo gallery and added to this report."

"Due to the presence of numerous WhatsApp conversation records, visuals, documents, and files within the mobile phone in question, and the limitation of time and resources for the examination, it was evaluated that the mobile phone should be examined by experts in the field."
MORE THAN 180 THOUSAND RECORDS FOUND
Following this preliminary examination report by the expert, Seçil Erzan's two mobile phones were sent to a specialized unit. In the examined mobile phone records, more than 180 thousand deleted WhatsApp messages have been recovered so far. The recovered correspondence will be matched with HTS records. With this work, it will be revealed who Seçil Erzan met with, where, how, and from whom she received money and to whom she gave it.
