Night watchman who beat employee for not liking lettuce released under judicial control
In Adana, a night watchman who was detained for beating a child at a grocery store because he did not like the lettuce he ordered has been released under judicial control.

The incident took place at a grocery store in the 100. Yıl neighborhood of the central Çukurova district. According to allegations, 14-year-old A.Ç., who works at his uncle's grocery store, delivered lettuce to K.K., who was identified as a neighborhood watchman, following an order placed via a mobile phone application.
After the order was delivered, the customer called the store and stated that he did not like the product. K.K. later came to the store and beat 14-year-old A.Ç., who had delivered the order. While the incident was recorded by the store's security camera, the child's relatives immediately went to the hospital to obtain a medical report of the assault and filed a complaint at the police station. Following this, the suspect was detained and referred to the courthouse.
After the footage appeared in the news, the Adana Governor's Office issued a statement regarding the matter. The statement said, "On 08.08.2025, at approximately 18:40, a citizen who came to our police station reported that his 14-year-old son had been assaulted by a neighborhood watchman named K.K. Regarding the incident in question, the neighborhood watchman was referred to the courthouse under custody upon the instructions of the Duty Public Prosecutor.
Furthermore, an administrative/disciplinary investigation process has also been initiated against him," it was stated.
Released under judicial control
The watchman, K.K., was released under judicial control at the courthouse where he was referred.
