Non-commissioned officer accidentally shoots himself
In Gümüşhane, a non-commissioned officer was injured when the handgun he was cleaning at home accidentally discharged.

The incident occurred in the evening hours on the 7th floor of a 10-story building in the Çamlıca neighborhood.
According to the information obtained, non-commissioned officer G.Ö. (32), who serves at the Gümüşhane Provincial Gendarmerie Command, was injured in the head when the weapon in his hand accidentally discharged while he was cleaning his handgun at home.
The bullet entered the non-commissioned officer's chin and exited through the ear area, leaving the unfortunate officer collapsed on the floor in a pool of blood.
Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
Following the initial intervention at the scene, G.Ö. was taken to Gümüşhane State Hospital, where his treatment continues; it was learned that the non-commissioned officer is married and a father of one child.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
