Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu had been held in Silivri Prison for 237 days without an indictment being prepared. However, the long-awaited indictment in the IMM investigation has finally been completed.
AKP MP'S SPOUSE IN THE FILE AS A "VICTIM"
According to a report by T24, Fatih Erdoğan, the husband of AKP Ankara MP Asuman Erdoğan, is listed as a "victim" in the prepared indictment.
According to the information in the indictment, Erdoğan stated that Adem Soytekin, the owner of ASOY Construction—who was previously released after benefiting from effective remorse provisions as part of the "corruption" investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM)—had demanded money from them under the guise of a donation.
"DONATION IN EXCHANGE FOR NURSERY" ALLEGATION
According to the indictment, Erdoğan expressed the following in his testimony:
"Regarding the matter, it was stated that there was a demand for financial aid in exchange for a nursery due to a silhouette report, which has no basis in law, for our construction projects in Istanbul. Later, it was conveyed to our deputy chairman of the board that if a donation were made to him in exchange for a nursery through the zoning company, the silhouette reports could be issued. Although I did not find this matter appropriate in any way, I felt compelled to accept it on the condition that it be a donation for the public good and that it be official. We suffered very large financial losses during the process. We were forced to pay these amounts out of necessity. As a family and a group of companies, we are at the service of our state and our nation. Taking this reality into account, we are filing a complaint against all relevant persons who have caused harm to us and our companies."
