Notable dialogue between Mansur Yavaş and a reporter

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş met with citizens at the Traditional Ankara Half Marathon and Public Run, held at the ATA Farm as part of the May 19 Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day. Yavaş, who gave the starting signal for the race, emphasized both his satisfaction with the increasing participation in the organization and the fact that the event has even greater goals.

Pointing to the importance of the event being held in Ankara's largest agricultural and recreational area, Yavaş said:

"Our athletes have come to Turkey's largest agricultural and recreational area to both exercise and commemorate May 19. Hopefully, this will become a tradition. There are participants from both home and abroad. Currently, two stages are being run, but our goal is for a full marathon to be held. There is a 39-kilometer walking path here. From now on, it will be organized to be run entirely within this area, within the facility, without going out onto the main road. Best of luck. There is a very good turnout."

Following the marathon, when a journalist remarked, "You are dressed in sportswear in a way we haven't seen before," Yavaş laughed and replied, "Yes, does it look good on me?" This witty dialogue was shared by numerous users on social media.

Yavaş's support for the organization and his sincere demeanor drew the attention of those attending the event. While the goal is to expand the running track even further in the coming years, the people of Ankara hope that this traditional event will continue for many years to come.
