Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced in a statement on his social media account that a 'nuclear energy' agreement was signed between the two countries during President Erdoğan's visit to the White House.

Bayraktar made the following statement on his social media account:

We participated in the meeting held by our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the President of the United States, Mr. Donald Trump, at the White House.

We have initiated a new process that will further deepen the deep-rooted and multidimensional partnership between Turkey and the United States in the field of nuclear energy.

Following the meeting, we signed the Strategic Civil Nuclear Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of the leaders, together with US Secretary of State Mr. Marco Rubio.

I hope that the work to be carried out within the scope of the agreement will generate mutual benefits for both countries in the coming period.
