Istanbul Planning Agency President Buğra Gökçe and Uğur Ataman have been detained as part of the operation launched against the IMM. The number of people in custody, including CHP presidential candidate hopeful Ekrem İmamoğlu, has risen to 90 with these two individuals.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that Gökçe and Ataman were apprehended and detained as part of the terror organization investigation being conducted in Istanbul. Within the scope of the operation carried out in Istanbul in the morning hours, 90 people, including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, were detained. It was learned that Gökçe was among those detained.

Detention warrants were issued for 90 people within the scope of two separate investigations conducted against the IMM. In the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's first statement, it was stated that İmamoğlu was characterized as a 'criminal organization leader' and was detained on allegations such as 'establishing a criminal organization, extortion, bribery, fraud, and bid rigging.'

In the second statement, it was reported that detention warrants were issued for 7 people, including IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, IMM Deputy Secretary General Mahir Polat, Şişli Mayor Resul Şahan, Reform Institute President Mehmet Ali Çalışkan, and Şişli Deputy Mayor Ebru Özdemir, on the allegation of 'aiding the PKK/KCK terror organization' through the 'urban consensus' (kent uzlaşısı).

It was noted that the legal processes for the individuals detained within the scope of the operation will begin following their statements to the prosecutor's office. İmamoğlu's testimony process began today at the Çağlayan Courthouse.
