Number of licensed clubs in football rises to 29
The number of clubs granted licenses in professional football leagues has increased from 21 to 29.

According to the statement made by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Club Licensing Board, the applications of clubs in the top three leagues—the Trendyol Süper Lig, Trendyol 1. Lig, and Nesine 2. Lig—were evaluated under the National Club Licensing System based on sporting, infrastructure, personnel-administrative, legal, and financial criteria.
In its initial evaluations on May 21, 2026, the Club Licensing Board had granted UEFA licenses to Beşiktaş, Corendon Alanyaspor, Çaykur Rizespor, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Göztepe, Başakşehir, Samsunspor, Trabzonspor, and Konyaspor from the Süper Lig; İstanbulspor from the Trendyol 1. Lig; and the Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, and Galatasaray teams from the Turkcell Women's Super League.
The board had also deemed it appropriate for Iğdır FK, Çorum FK, and Manisa FK from the Trendyol 1. Lig, and Batman Petrolspor, Beyoğlu Yeni Çarşı, 68 Aksaray Belediyespor, and 1461 Trabzon FK from the Nesine 2. Lig to receive National Licenses.
Meeting for a second time regarding the licenses, the board granted national licenses to Amed Sportif Faaliyetler and Kasımpaşa from the Trendyol Süper Lig; Ankara Keçiörengücü and Bodrum Futbol Kulübü from the Trendyol 1. Lig; and Aliağa Futbol, Muş Spor, Altınordu, and Ankara Demirspor from the Nesine 2. Lig, after observing that they had completed their deficiencies within the given timeframe.
The Club Licensing Board imposed fines on clubs that could not complete their deficiencies and granted them a second 30-day extension to address the issues.
Thus, the number of clubs that have received licenses for the 2026-2027 season has risen from 21 to 29.
