Number of people affected by smoke in Çanakkale fire rises to 77
Aerial and ground interventions continue for the fire that started on agricultural land in the Kepez town of Çanakkale and spread to a forested area. It has been reported that 77 people affected by smoke are currently receiving treatment.

The fire started around 13:30 on agricultural land in the town of Kepez. The flames grew due to the effect of the wind and spread to a forested area. Upon notification, numerous teams affiliated with the Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the scene. The teams' aerial and ground intervention against the fire continues.
Çanakkale Governor Ömer Toraman stated in a post on his social media account that the fire is being fought with 10 aircraft and 9 helicopters from the air, and on the ground with 75 water tenders, 35 fire trucks, 10 bulldozers, 92 other vehicles, and 760 personnel. While 2,090 citizens in high-risk areas were evacuated by sea and land as a precaution, 77 citizens affected by smoke are continuing their treatment at healthcare facilities.
