Prof. Dr. Nurettin Demir, one of Muğla's well-known politicians, has announced his candidacy for the Metropolitan Municipality Mayoralty. In his speech, Demir said, "Our priority will be our Muğla."
The local press showed great interest in the meeting held at the CHP Muğla Provincial Headquarters. Demir was accompanied at the meeting by CHP Muğla Provincial Secretary Müge Yenisu, former Muğla provincial chair Mustafa Öztürk, and former members of parliament Ömer Süha Aldan, Burak Erbay, and Mürsel Alban. In his speech, Demir stated that this candidacy is a promise of service to Muğla for him. Emphasizing that they will remove resentments and grievances, Demir said he aims to develop projects that will cover every corner of Muğla.

By listening to everyone's feelings and thoughts, I am setting out to build a more livable Muğla with an embracing, transparent, participatory, and fair management approach.
We will walk hand in hand with every segment of society. Our priority will be our Muğla. We will eliminate resentments and grievances.
I aim to develop projects that will cover every corner of Muğla, and I promise to protect our history and culture.
The rich heritage of our city is a treasure left to us by our past. While passing this heritage on to future generations, we will also adapt to the changes brought by modernism in a balanced way.
Together with you, we will maximize not only Muğla's tourism potential but also its agricultural potential. Under the guidance of scientific management and the rule of law, I will always keep communication at the forefront while taking the necessary steps for development.
We have a brand new vision plan for tourism. My goal is to make our city one of the most well-known tourism centers in the world. On this path, I will consider not only economic but also environmental sustainability.
I will work to leave behind a clean and healthy environment. The future of Muğla is a story we will write together.

WHO IS NURETTİN DEMİR?
He was born on April 14, 1953, in Göcek, Fethiye, Muğla. His father's name is Mehmet, and his mother's name is Gülsüm. He graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine. He completed his specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Social Security Institution Ege Maternity Hospital and Women's Diseases Research and Training Hospital. In 1992, he served as the Chief Physician of the Ege Maternity Hospital and Women's Diseases Training and Research Hospital.
In 1998, he launched the first private IVF center in İzmir.
Between 2000 and 2004, he worked as a professor at Şanlıurfa Harran University.
He worked as the chief physician at the same university's training and research hospital.
He established the first Information Processing and Hospital Automation System in Turkey.
In 2009, he served as the Founding Dean of the Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Faculty of Medicine.
He is a member of the European Union Harmonization Commission and serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of TÜLOV (Turkey Promotion, Research, Democracy and Secular Formation Foundation).
