Nurgül Göksu, who lost her son, daughter-in-law, and six-month-old grandchild in the Ezgi Apartment building—where 35 people lost their lives in the epicenter of the February 6, 2023 earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş—spoke to journalist Betül Begümhan Aydoğan, who hosts the program 'Yorum 12' at 12punto Studios and comments on the agenda with famous guests.

Nurgül Göksu, who regularly shares updates on her social media accounts regarding the Ezgi Apartment case, has had her X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram accounts suspended.

Striving to make her voice heard and share the problems she has faced, Göksu this time made statements to journalist Betül Begümhan Aydoğan.

The trial of 5 defendants—two in custody, one released pending trial, and two fugitives—regarding the collapse of the Ezgi Apartment in Kahramanmaraş, the epicenter of the earthquakes, where 35 people lost their lives, continued at the Kahramanmaraş 4th High Criminal Court.

Criticizing the attitude of Ersan Şen, who serves as the lawyer for the fugitive defendants, toward those who lost their lives in the earthquake, Nurgül Göksu reacted specifically to the aggressive stance directed at them regarding the 'Red Notice'.

"DO YOU KNOW THE COST OF A RED NOTICE TO THE STATE?"

Nurgül Göksu reacted to the words directed at them by Ersan Şen, the lawyer for the fugitive defendants.

Stating that he spoke to them in court by shouting and yelling at an extremely high volume, Göksu tearfully recounted the harsh words Ersan Şen directed at them after the court rejected the families' request for a Red Notice to be issued for the fugitive defendants.

Stating that the cost calculation Ersan Şen made regarding the red notice once again broke their hearts, Göksu spoke on Betül Begümhan Aydoğan's YouTube channel.

Göksu said that Şen asked, "Do you know the cost of a red notice to the state?" Mother Göksu responded, "My children were citizens of the Republic of Turkey. Does my state lack the power to search for fugitives? Why shouldn't people who caused the deaths of 35 people be searched for?" she replied through tears.

"ERSAN ŞEN ALSO TARGETED THE FAMILIES"

According to Göksu's account, Ersan Şen also targeted the families in court.

Şen accused the grieving woman, saying, "You are trying to create public opinion by taking journalists behind you." 

Mother Nurgül Göksu also added that Ersan Şen criticized the court panel for accepting the indictment, "They brought this case to this point through social media perception.

How can you accept this indictment?" she said, describing how he raised his voice.

"HE DEMANDED A GUARANTEE OF NON-ARREST FOR HIS FUGITIVE CLIENTS"

Furthermore, Göksu stated that Ersan Şen demanded a guarantee of non-arrest for Sami Kervancıoğlu and Mustafa Peker, who have been fugitives for 8 months.

Ersan Şen demanded a GUARANTEE OF NON-ARREST for the fugitive defendants, who disregarded the families' pain, were found primarily at fault by the Karadeniz Technical University expert committee, and are being tried for 876 years each for 'probable intent' in the indictment prepared by the prosecutor.

Ersan Şen had also used the phrase "They are people who have been the pride of Kahramanmaraş" for the defendants in court.
