Nurse Selen investigation: It turns out her friend died in the same way...

New details have emerged regarding the death of 24-year-old Nurse Selen, who lost her life after an anesthetic drug was injected into her arm at the Private Birinci Hospital in Beylikdüzü, where she was staying as a companion to her grandfather.

It has been learned that Pelin Köksal, a close friend and colleague of Nurse Selen, also lost her life in a similar manner 2 years ago. The fact that Dr. Fatih A., who is being tried in connection with Nurse Selen's death, was also friends with Pelin Köksal has made the suspicious deaths of the two nurses even more striking.

The incident occurred at the beginning of last week at the Private Birinci Hospital in Yakuplu, Beylikdüzü. According to allegations, 24-year-old Selen Bilgin, who went to the hospital as a companion for her 77-year-old grandfather, was injected with a drug used for surgery by her friend, anesthesiologist Fatih A., because she had a headache.

Bilgin, who fell ill in the early hours of the morning, was found dead on the sofa in the room where she was staying. While Dr. Fatih A., who was detained in connection with the incident, claimed that Selen had used the drug herself, the drug vial was found in Fatih A.'s pocket. Fatih A., who is married and a father of 3, was referred to court with a request for arrest on the day of the incident but was released under judicial control.

HER CLOSE FRIEND WAS ALSO FOUND DEAD IN HER HOME 2 YEARS AGO

Following the incident, the Bilgin family filed a complaint and initiated a legal process. A striking detail regarding the case has emerged. It was learned that nurse Pelin Köksal (28), who was in the same friend group as Selen Bilgin and Dr. Fatih A. who worked at the same hospital 2 years ago, was also found dead in her home in Esenyurt for a similar reason.

Information was obtained that Selen and her brother Saruhan, who went to Köksal's house after they could not reach her, found the other deceased nurse with an IV cannula in her arm and her face bruised.

The fact that Nurse Selen was also found dead in the same way drew attention to the drug called "propofol," which is used for anesthesia.

While the Bilgin family was grieving the news of their daughter's death, her grandfather Ali Ibrahim Paker, whom she was staying with as a companion, passed away 1 week later. Paker, whose funeral was held in Bahçeşehir today, was buried next to his late granddaughter Selen.

"THERE WAS A CANNULA, WE FOUND HER ALL BRUISED"

Nurse Selen's brother Saruhan Bilgin, drawing attention to the similarity between the death of Nurse Pelin two years ago and his sister's death, said, "Two years ago, there was another suspicious death in the same way. This happened at the same private hospital where they worked. The deceased Nurse Pelin was my sister's close friend. Fatih was also their doctor at the time.

When that incident happened, my sister had a spare key to her friend's house. We went together. I was at the scene too. We called her, but her friend didn't answer at the time. When we couldn't open the door with the key, we called a locksmith, and the police arrived. We went inside, and her deceased friend was all bruised.

Again, there was a cannula in her arm with needle kits; we found her all bruised. We suspect it was due to the same drug. We think it is the same drug, and we believe this situation should be investigated further. We were suspicious of the situation. Perhaps there are many more Pelins and Selens like this," he said.

Father Serkan Bilgin, stating that he wants justice for his daughter, said, "My daughter was 24 years old, in the prime of her life. My heart is burning as a father. I ask the honorable judges and prosecutors, how could you release that man? You released him, and I am experiencing pain upon pain.

My daughter has passed away, the prosecutor requested an arrest for the man, but the duty court released him. As a father, we are already devastated; of course, we will seek justice. I want justice for Selen," he said.

Meanwhile, it was learned that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
