In the new resolution process, of which MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli is the architect and which the government has named 'Terror-Free Turkey', eyes have now turned to the commission expected to be established in the TBMM following the laying down of arms by a group of PKK terrorists.

A new statement regarding both the process and the commission has come from the front of the DEM Party, the resolution process partner of the AKP and MHP.

Holding a press conference at the TBMM, DEM Party Group Deputy Chair Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit stated that they are against the process being named 'Terror-Free Turkey'.

"We strongly oppose this naming of the process," said Koçyiğit, adding, "If we are to ensure a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue in this country, I would like to say that it would be more accurate to use a designation that truly centers on peace and a democratic society, rather than framing it through terror and security-oriented policies."
