Oğuz Murat Aci's wife Şükriye Aci makes 'bargaining' claim: 'The slanders they leveled at me were actually their own demands'

Oğuz Murat Aci's wife, Şükriye Aci, has announced that she has withdrawn her complaint against Timur Cihantimur and his mother, Eylem Tok. Şükriye Aci stated, "Until 6 months after my husband's passing, I was not privy to any information regarding the legal process. Because my father-in-law was managing the entire process and I was not given any information. And after 6 months, I learned that negotiations were being held with the other party without our knowledge and that a monetary bargain was being struck, which they would take without my permission and without it being given to me, so I started looking for a new lawyer."

A notable development has occurred in the case regarding the accident on March 1, 2024, in Eyüpsultan, in which Oğuz Murat Aci lost his life.

Aci's wife, Şükriye Aci, has submitted a petition to the court stating that she has withdrawn her complaint against Timur Cihantimur and his mother, Eylem Tok, who were involved in the accident.

Şükriye Aci explained the process she went through and the reasons for her decision in statements she made regarding the matter. The incident has caused widespread repercussions in the public eye.

"I DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH THIS BY TAKING COMPENSATION"

Stating that she has shortened a result that would have emerged in 3-4 years for her own sake, Murat Aci's wife, Şükriye Aci, said, "I was not looking favorably on a settlement anyway. All the lawyers I spoke to over two months had already told me that the prison time would be very short. They had said that even if we withdrew our complaint, the public prosecution would continue. But I still did not continue my struggle in this way at first. Until I reached this point, I went through a lot with my husband's family during this process. And since I no longer want to deal with these things and my husband's family, I want to take the compensation I would receive after the criminal case, and I don't want to deal with these things for 3-4 years anymore, and I want to focus entirely on my child's life. I thought I wanted to spend my energy on raising them well. And we made such a decision. I have shortened the process for my own sake."

"THE SLANDERS THEY LEVELED AT ME WERE THEIR OWN DEMANDS"

Speaking about the allegations made against her by Murat Aci's father, Özer Aci, Şükriye Aci said, "It was something planned from the very beginning. If you noticed, I didn't give many interviews. I didn't go out, or rather, I wasn't allowed to go out. So, because they always managed the process, I gave interviews when they wanted; when they didn't, I didn't even get the news. Like, 'You just stay at home, you don't meet with anyone. It will be better this way, it will be better that way.' Of course, since I didn't know, I did whatever they told me to do. The slander they leveled at me, the 100 millions, were actually their own demands. Because they were the ones demanding it, when I reached an agreement, they thought I had agreed to such an amount of money. Fortunately, I am not as greedy as they are. I never sat down for such a money bargain. A protocol was made only through my lawyers; I didn't even come face to face with them. They are trying to blame me for what they did themselves right now."

"HOW CAN MY MORAL DAMAGE BE COMPENSATED?"

Expressing that she wants the suspect to appear before a judge, Şükriye Aci said, "'This doesn't mean I forgave them, they have no guilt.' This actually means, 'I have settled now and I waive my right to file any material or moral compensation lawsuit against them in the future, 3-4 years from now.' So, it is something in a material sense; otherwise, how can my moral damage be compensated? But this is a petition written in legal procedure. There is no point in taking this to a different place. We were a very happy family with my husband. They are taking my husband away from me, I am left alone with my child, I am trying to raise them by myself. I mean, what kind of compensation could there be for this?" she said.
