Oktay Saral, Chief Advisor to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has come to the agenda with statements targeting comedian Hasan Can Kaya. Reacting to a joke Kaya made about Jesus Christ on his program, Saral stated, "I believe it would be beneficial for the competent authorities to remind this charlatan, foolish comedian that our religion and our prophets cannot be mocked."


While Saral's harsh outburst resonated widely on social media, the statements have sparked a new debate.

Chief Advisor Saral had previously targeted journalist Fatih Altaylı; Altaylı was subsequently arrested as part of an ongoing investigation and sent to Silivri Prison.
