Ömer Çelik criticizes CHP leader Özel in post regarding Iran-Israel war: 'The only person who cannot understand this'

In his post, Çelik, who referred to the peace negotiations led by AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan, used critical language regarding CHP Chairman Özgür Özel in his assessment of the war.

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel had made assessments regarding the agenda during his party's weekly group meeting in the Turkish Grand National Assembly and had criticized AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on foreign policy.

Çelik used the following expressions in his post:

"Our President is conducting the most effective diplomacy at the regional and global level in the face of Israel's inhumane attack on Iran.

All actors at the global and regional level emphasize the importance of our President's experience and leadership for the establishment of a peace table and a return to nuclear negotiations. The most important pillar for Turkey to maintain its position and power amidst all this chaos around us is the resolute leadership of our President. This is a fact accepted at both the regional and global levels.

The only person who cannot understand this is CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. He never manages to stand in the right place regarding foreign policy developments. While the world is in such a situation, for Özgür Özel to attempt to question our President's sensitivity toward Palestine is complete political unconsciousness.

Our President is, on one hand, the strongest supporter of the search for a diplomatic solution in the face of Israel's attack on Iran, and on the other hand, he emphasizes in all his meetings that Israel should not be allowed to divert attention from Gaza by expanding its war policy.

Özgür Özel's words have no value in terms of politics or the international agenda. However, in such days, attacking our President's sensitivity toward Palestine and his stance against Israel's attack on Iran serves no purpose other than supporting the war lobby."
