AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik, regarding the 'process' continuing with the call from terrorist organization PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, said, "No one should think that the state's wisdom is left out of this."

Çelik stated, "The PKK, YPG, PYD, and all their extensions, no matter what name they go by, must dissolve the terrorist organization. When we say terrorist organization, we are referring to the liquidation of the terrorist organization along with its elements in Iraq and Syria."

Drawing attention to the speech made by then-Prime Minister and current AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Diyarbakır on August 12, 2005, Çelik said, "Both the Kurdish issue and the headscarf issue were resolved thanks to our President's will. At the point we have reached today, we express that it is time to achieve the goal of a Turkey without terrorism."

Responding to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's criticism that the political responsibility for the process was being dumped on the MHP, Çelik said, "The People's Alliance is one and whole. There is no non-transparent process."

Here is Çelik's statement:

RESOLVED WITH OUR PRESIDENT'S WILL

"The topic on the agenda since yesterday is the issue regarding the PKK laying down its arms, its dissolution, and its liquidation. Since our President's time as Prime Minister, there have been speeches that are symbols of the will he demonstrated in lifting bans and removing tutelage traps. One of these is his speech in Diyarbakır. In the speech on August 12, 2005, he said that Turkey is as much Diyarbakır as it is Istanbul or Konya; every part of this country, every voice has a different flavor. He said the Kurdish issue is not a problem of one part of this nation, but of all of it. This is a historic speech.

Here, the expression that the Kurdish issue is the problem of the entire nation is an important and strategic statement. This statement does not treat the matter merely as an ethnic issue, but expresses that it is Turkey's issue. Our President said the Kurdish issue is our issue and fought a great struggle to lift the bans. He fought the same struggle regarding the headscarf, and he looked at the problems of our Alevi brothers and sisters as a problem for all of Turkey. As a continuation of this line, he announced the main points of the action plan that will achieve goals in the new period. Our President's political life contains approaches to elevating democracy. Both the Kurdish issue and the headscarf issue were resolved thanks to this will of our President.

"ELEMENTS IN IRAQ AND SYRIA MUST ALSO BE LIQUIDATED"

At the point we have reached today, we express that it is time to achieve the goal of a Turkey without terrorism. In the call to strengthen the internal front, the clear demonstration of will, the detailed expression in the TBMM, and subsequently Mr. Bahçeli's historic call, a new will has emerged that will strengthen the internal front in Turkey. Its main purpose is a Turkey without terrorism. It is essential for the terrorist organization to lay down its arms and be completely dissolved. Our President had said, 'Let them bury their weapons and leave.' Now, when we look around, we see that the genocidal politician Netanyahu is trying to implement dark policies such as changing maps in the region and a David corridor. Turkey has demonstrated a policy of brotherhood in accordance with its geopolitical realities.

In this framework, the PKK, YPG, PYD, and all their extensions, no matter what name they go by, must dissolve the terrorist organization. When we say terrorist organization, we are referring to the liquidation of the terrorist organization along with its elements in Iraq and Syria. It is natural that we have citizens who call themselves Turkish, Arab, or Kurdish as an ethnic identity even if we have different identities, and that our names are different, but our surname is the Republic of Turkey. This will was put forward to reinforce this.

WILL BE FOLLOWED UNDER OUR PRESIDENT'S INSTRUCTIONS

Turkey will not allow any imperialist ambitions to be realized. We demonstrated this will with the Olive Branch and Euphrates Shield operations. Those who draw weapons on our Turkmen brothers will find Turkey against them. Their prosperity is under Turkey's guarantee. The policy of brotherhood for all elements, regardless of their nation or sect, is in effect by the Republic of Turkey. Behind this is Turkey's state wisdom. There is no bargaining here regarding the qualities of the state. There is no 'give-and-take' in any way. States have hard and soft power elements.

All our security units are fighting to protect the democracy of the Republic of Turkey and its citizens. As a soft power, the call to lay down arms is made frequently. In a conflict, a call to lay down arms is also made to members of a terrorist organization. The call for the dissolution of the terrorist organization is evaluated from the perspective of a Turkey without terrorism from our point of view. This entire process will be followed sensitively by state institutions under the instructions of our President. Our perspective on all developments will be based on the principle of one homeland, one flag, and one nation, as it was in Diyarbakır on August 12, 2005, and throughout Turkey. We say our past is one, our present is one, our future and our destiny are one. Since we started our political life, we have continued to protect the supremacy of civilian politics. No one should think that the state's wisdom is left out of this."

RESPONDED TO ÖZGÜR ÖZEL

The criticisms coming from the opposition are also low-quality criticisms. Saying that developments are taking place in line with Israel and the US is a manifestation of their ignorance regarding the state's wisdom. Mr. Özel stated that 'a certain segment is coming to the fore, the process is not being managed transparently, there are studies being done by such and such people, and these are being hidden from the nation.' The People's Alliance is one and whole; there is no crack. Mr. Özel speaks by saying 'I heard'.

He talks about the rhetoric of retired diplomats. He says there is a crack within the People's Alliance. All of these are empty. These show that they do not understand the will put forward within the goals of the Century of Turkey. Mr. Bahçeli's call, which will overturn the networks of evil, and our President's will are the answer to all of this. As a party, we will make all evaluations and follow this process."
